Rayshaun Ames was accused of having consentual sex when he was 16 with a girl who was 13.  He faced a mandatory minimum of thirty-nine years in prison if convicted at trial.  Attorney Corwin A. Townsend filed, the first of its kind, a Motion to Strike the Allegation of Dangerous Crime Against Children and the trial judge granted the defense request. A 21 year old man was accused of having consentual sex with a 12 year old girl.  Attorney Corwin A. Townsend did it again, a Maricopa Superior Court Judge on September 18, 2003, granted Attorney Townsend 's Motion To Strike the Allegation of Dangerous Crime Against Children.  On October 10, 2003,  the State of Arizona dismissed all charges against the 21 year old man.
